About The Founder
Michael Spitler
Founder and Lead Consultant, Michael brings over 4 decades of experience in aviation maintenance, regulatory compliance, and business consulting. His dedication to delivering tailored solutions has made him a trusted partner for businesses across various industries.
A proud alumnus of Spartan School of Aeronautics, where he earned an Associate of Applied Science degree in Aviation Maintenance Technology, Michael has built a distinguished career spanning military service, commercial aviation, and business ownership.
A Lifetime of Aviation Excellence
Michael earned his FAA Airframe & Powerplant Mechanic Certificate in 1983 after completing his training at Spartan School of Aeronautics. This certification marked the beginning of a distinguished career in aviation maintenance.
His work journey began in the U.S. Navy, where he served as an Aviation Machinist Mate, maintaining Grumman E-2C Hawkeye aircraft aboard the USS Midway. This foundation instilled in him a commitment to precision, discipline, and operational excellence that has defined his career.
His professional experience includes working with notable organizations such as Northrop Grumman, Independence Air, AAR Airlift Group, Mountain Aviation, and Northern Jet as well as operating his own aviation maintenance consulting business, Aethon Aeronautics, LLC. Michael has excelled in various capacities, from managing maintenance training programs to leading mobile service units and overseeing aircraft inspections for FAA Part 135 operators.
Expertise Across a Broad Range of Aircraft
Michael’s diverse equipment experience reflects his adaptability and technical mastery. He has worked on an extensive range of fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft, including Gulfstream G-IV, Bombardier Global Jets, Bell 412, Aérospatiale SA330J Puma, and Cessna Citation models. His technical skills span scheduled inspections, AOG maintenance, airframe repairs, engine performance runs, and more.
